Spring is here, and with it comes one of the most exciting opportunities for young tennis players in our community: Junior Team Tennis (JTT)! Whether your child is a seasoned player or just starting to get the hang of the game, JTT offers a fun and social environment to develop their skills and compete with peers.
What is Junior Team Tennis?
Junior Team Tennis is a level-based team competition designed for youth players in our community. The league emphasizes a fun, supportive atmosphere where players can enjoy match play, make new friends, and grow their tennis skills. Players can sign up as part of a team or as an individual and be placed on a team. Teams can be all girls, all boys, or a combination of both—so there’s something for everyone!
One of the best things about Junior Team Tennis is the experience. It’s not just about winning matches but about gaining valuable match play experience in a social, team-oriented setting. Players will learn how to work together, communicate on the court, and develop the sportsmanship that comes with competition.
Who Can Join?
To join Junior Team Tennis, players need to be able to serve, keep the ball in play with success (2+ shots), know how to keep score, understand where to stand, and be familiar with the basic rules of the game. This ensures that everyone on the court is able to participate in a meaningful way while still having fun and improving their tennis skills.

State Championships 2025
The ultimate reward for success in Junior Team Tennis? The chance to qualify for the State Championships! This year, the State Championships will be held in Winston-Salem from July 11-13. A huge congratulations to Serve First Racquet Sports—represented by Caroline Downs and Tiffany Noel—for winning the bid to host the championships for our community. It’s going to be an incredible event, and we can’t wait to see how our local teams perform!
2025 Spring Season Information
If you’re ready to get started, here are the key details for the upcoming Spring season:
Registration Opens: February 14th
Team Deadlines: All teams must have a minimum of 6 registered players by March 21st.
Season Dates: April 6 through May 18 (with a break on April 20th)
Match Times: Matches will be held on Sunday afternoons at 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM.
How to Register
It’s easy to sign up for Junior Team Tennis! Simply register as a team, or sign up as an individual if you’re looking to join a team. Make sure your team has the required number of players by March 21st to ensure they’re ready to compete!
