Ace n' Ale
Ace n' Ale is our newest young adult social league. Designed for any level of player ages 39 and under, this program is ideal for young adults looking to meet other tennis players in the area, just getting back into tennis, or just looking for a fun outdoor activity. Ace n' Ale is set up with one instructor that rotates games and drills on multiple courts, providing an easy, social, and fun environment. After enjoying an hour and a half of fun play, members will head over to partnered local bars to socialize. Registration is $40 for 8 weeks of play at either Tanglewood Park or Hanes Park.
Try Tennis is the name of a program for beginner tennis lessons.
For $40 you get 6 hours of instruction, a new Dunlop tennis racket, and a Try Tennis player gift.
Adults must be at least 18 years of age by the start of the first lesson.
Registration opens one month prior to the program start date.

Try Play is a fun and engaging program offered as a follow up to Try Tennis that allows adult players to learn the ins-and-outs of playing a tennis match.
This program is a “play-to-learn” session for adult beginners that want to build confidence in their newly learned tennis skills. It is the perfect next step in getting comfortable with match play.
Registration opens one month prior to the program start date.

Leagues
USTA League is the country’s largest adult competitive tennis league for players of all skill levels. Teams are organized into 4 age groups - 18 & over, 40 & over, 55 & over and 65 & over. Match play is based on the NTRP rating system, so you will play with and against players of a similar abilities. It’s a great way to stay active, improve your game, and meet other players in the area.
Winston Salem Tennis coordinates USTA leagues locally. Men’s and Women’s teams play in the Spring, March - May. Summer leagues run June - August and include Singles, Mixed Doubles, and Tri-Level teams. Fall is for combo leagues which begin in August and end mid-October.

Spring League
USTA Spring Leagues are team competitions against players of similar skill levels. 18 and 40+ teams play both singles and doubles while 55+ and 65+ teams play only doubles.

Summer Leagues
USTA Mixed Doubles League
USTA mixed doubles is a a co-ed league where men and women play together based on their ratings. For the 2024 season, teams will be formatted the same way as spring teams. 2.5 to 4.5 levels. Players may only pay up one level.
Matches consist of 3 courts of doubles. Teams may have a maximum of 15 players.
League Season: Early June through mid August
Deadline to Register a Team: teams must have at least 6 players that can combine and compete registered by May 22nd!
Cost: $39.15 (Includes all court fees)
Teams can have a maximum of 15 players

USTA Tri-Level
What is USTA Tri-Level? Same team/Each court a different doubles level.
Example: 2.5/3.0/3.5 - 3.0/3.5/4.0 - 3.5/4.0/4.5 - 4.0/4.5/5.0
If you want to play on a team with friends at different NTRP levels - this league is for you! Play doubles with your friends, while on a team consisting of 3 or more NTRP levels. Example: one court of 3.0 doubles, one court of 3.5 doubles and one court of 4.0 doubles = Tri-Level team. This socially competitive league is a great way to enjoy the camaraderie of friends in the ultimate team experience.

Fall Leagues
USTA Combo Doubles League
What is USTA Combo Doubles?
It's a separate men and women's doubles teams forming at combined rating levels! Each match consists of 3 doubles courts with a max of 15 players to a team.
Registration will begin in early July and the league will run from mid-August through mid-October.

Fall Flex League
Different age divisions: 18+, 40+, 55+ and possibly 65+ if any interested!

Sign up individually - no teams

Need a minimum of 6 players per division - if less, some levels and age divisions may be combined

Starts week of September 2nd and runs approximately 8-10 weeks. Depends on how many players in each division.

Separate men and women's divisions

It is FLEXIBLE!! Just like in USTA Leagues, the schedule of who you play each week will be in Tennislink for the season. You and your opponent will agree to a day, time and place to play your match. You have until Sunday evening of each week to complete your match. After your match is complete, scores will be entered into Tennislink

This is totally fun - matches do NOT count towards USTA ratings.

Cost: $33 per person (includes Tennislink)

Players can choose to play on a public court, school court, a club you both may belong to or one of our great public facilities. However, the league does not cover any court fees if you choose to play at a facility with fees.
